Amy Hughes – Sunday Papers Live

Amy is an endurance runner, adventurer, personal trainer and world record holder. In 2014 she ran 53 marathons in 53 consecutive days raising a ton of cash for charity. This put her at the no. 27 spot in The Telegraph’s Top 100 Britons. Recently she claimed the world record for the most miles covered on a treadmill in 7 days – an insane 521 miles, the equivalent of almost three marathons a day – beating the previous record by nearly three and a half minutes.

Just eight years ago, she’d never run a marathon before. After successfully completing her 53 challenge, Amy ran 250 miles in one week from her home town of Oswestry to London, so she could help Blue Peter presenter Lindsey Russell to run her own first London Marathon. Then in August 2015, Amy ran an incredible 53 miles in 10 hours 18 minutes to mark the first anniversary of her 53 challenge.

Amy’s first TV series On The Run, filmed in Ecuador, is launching this spring and she has her sights set on a major new challenge for 2017.
